The drop in trip will suit JUST SAM, who edges preference ahead of Fuzzy Cat and Whispered Times. Inter Vision is also a threat at this level and, despite his advancing years, he does have a habit of popping up when least expected, so it would be no surprise to see him bounce back from a lack lustre string of performances. Whispered Times has been in good heart lately and has a feasible chance from the bottom of the weights. However, the gelding has struggled off this sort of mark in the past, so needs everything to go his way. Fuzzy Cat made a smooth transition back to turf when scoring at Nottingham last month - comfortably landing an apprentice handicap under a confident ride. A 6lb higher mark obviously makes things harder but a bold effort can be expected nevertheless. Strong support for Another Try would also be interesting, as he will be suited by the conditions. Quite whether he can make all the running is debatable, though. Therefore, it can pay to take a chance that Just Sam will have derived great benefit from his latest start and, with the drop to six furlongs expected to ideally suit; the five-year-old gets a confident nod in the finale.
