AHTOUG is the obvious one here, while Last Destination, Anddante and Mysterious Bounty are others with experience and each is worth noting in the betting. The last named was well backed on debut but failed to live up expectations due to inexperience. Sure to be wiser this time around, the Michael Dodds-trained colt is one to seriously monitor in the betting - it's also noteworthy the yard won this race with a similar type last year. Anddante looks the pick of Tim Easterby's duo (the Yorkshire man also sends out Dark Dune) and, having shown plenty of promise at Ripon 12 days ago; the son of Antonius Pius is very likely to have a great deal more to offer. Entered in York's big sales in August, the colt has to be considered a threat. Last Destination also posted a very promising effort when introduced at Beverley last month; he may well have won had he not met trouble in running a furlong out. The son of Dubai Destination showed plenty of speed that day and, even though his pedigree suggests he will be suited by at least a mile in time, a similar effort would bring him into the thick of the argument today. However, Ahtoug showed a very willing attitude when he came under pressure in a similar race at Haydock in April and, with Mahmood Al Zarooni now buoyed by his first classic success (German 2,000 Guineas) at the weekend, everything appears to be in place for Godolphin's new golden boy to also show his talents at a more modest level.
