The lightly raced CHARDONNAY may have plenty to offer for the season ahead and can make a winning reappearance if all goes to plan today. Red Scintilla and Dance For Julie may spearhead the challenge from the rest. Dance For Julie needed the run on her reappearance at Lingfield in March. And then wasn't given a hard time when her chance had gone at this course last month. Her fitness now topped up, the Ben Haslam-trained filly could be a different proposition today. The market will be the best guide on that score. Red Scintilla is steadily getting the hang of things and starts her handicap career on a very lenient mark. The step up in distance ought to suit and a bold effort can be expected. However, the vote goes to Chardonnay, who showed a good attitude to score on the all-weather last time out and, having created the impression that she will easily cope with a mile; this is a good starting point for the Guy Reed-owned filly.
