        Verdict

        Contretemps, Aqwaal and Silver Print make the shortlist here with CONTRETEMPS the selection. Silver Print has shaped with promise in two starts to date, but the value of his form when third a month ago has been knocked since - the second was well beaten in a modest all-weather contest and he is opposed though he is out of a top-class American miler. Contretemps showed ability when a close fifth in a big field at Headquarters on his debut. He will have learned from the experience and is liable to have improved for that outing. He hails from an excellent winning family and looks a threat to all. Aqwaal stepped up on his debut effort when reaching the frame at Lingfield recently, but that was a run-of-the-mill affair and breeding would suggest he will be suited by another half a mile in due course. Contretemps gets a confident vote.
