Verdict

Lesson In Humility, Crimson Fern and Sonny Red look the trio to focus on here, with CRIMSON FERN the selection. Her rating has gone up 40lbs since the start of the year and she has picked up six wins in the process. This is not the toughest of Listed contests and she is a worthy contender - she has won her two previous attempts when there has been cut in the ground and she was just touched off in a valuable handicap recently. The talented and progressive Lesson In Humility may be a year younger but she underlined her ability when scoring with authority at York in July, and the third has won since. Given a break since then, this ground may not suit - she has been beaten on her two previous attempts on this surface and she is therefore taken on. Sonny Red ran three good races at the start of the season but his efforts since have suggested he has gone downhill. This may be an easier task than some of his other contests however and he does handle cut. However, we like the consistency of Crimson Fern and this small field should ensure this hold-up filly will encounter few traffic problems and can take this.
