GRANARY GIRL can land this lowly race, and gets the vote ahead of General Tufto and Chalice Welcome. Granary Girl's three wins in her last six outings, stretching back to last June, make her the most consistent here. Her win at Nottingham last time out was the first time she'd won on her seasonal debut and she is racing off a career high mark. Not for four years has she posted back to back successes, but given the opposition here, she may not have a better chance. General Tufto gives weight away all round racing under a penalty for winning over a mile and a quarter at Beverley last week. That was a scrappy race though, with many racing out of the handicap in a ladies' amateurs race, so not too much should be read into it. It did prove he could handle a different surface though, with his previous four career wins all coming on the Fibresand at Southwell. Chalice Welcome's only win on the turf came in an apprentice handicap, and last time out he was very disappointing. A number of these have ability that's shown only too rarely which is why they're at this level, but for some consistent and recent form in the locker, we'll side with Granary Girl.
