GRACIE'S GIFT has moderate form, a repeat of which could see him land this, and he's selected in preference to Bateleur and Plumage. It's a poor contest though, and wide open. Richard Guest's gelding has almost a stone in hand on the joint top-weights, but has been paying his way of late, with a couple of wins and places in his last four runs, the only one of which was on the turf was here over this trip. A change of yard has done him the world of good, and he seems to be over the previous injury problems he suffered. He's well drawn too. Bateleur hasn't won for nearly three years, but a couple of decent seconds recently have shown the ability's still there, and he gains weight all round to aid his cause. Plumage remains a maiden after ten runs, but was a decent second at Wolverhampton last time out. Drawn well, and gaining weight from many she seems to have this sort of race within her. It's a contest that may not take much winning, and we'll support Gracie's Gift.
