In a woeful affair, Moorside Diamond is a sporting selection to overcome Cherri Fosfate and Winged Farasi. Having shown modest form in claimers last season, Cherri Fosfate scored when dropped to this class at Redcar at the end of last season, a race run in simialr to conditions to this. He is making his seasonal bow, but looks likely to be in the shake up. Winged Farai took an apprentice handicap at Salisbury last season and ran good races in defeat on the all weather later in the campaign. He is dropped to selling class for the first time and looks set to go well. Former jump jockey Alan Brown runs Moorside Diamond on turf for the first time, and out of a Sharpo mare, he looks set to appreciate the recent rain. He has improved significantly this season, running with real promise on his two starts, and should have no stamina problems. Moorside Diamond may not be the best treated runner at the weights according to the official ratings, but he is progressing and can sparkle here.
