Verdict

Waffle and Rayvin Mad make immediate appeal on first look but the market quite often provides the best guide in this type of contest. We will side with Jeremy Nosedas' newcomer Waffle, a son of Kheleyf and an expensive purchase at the Goffs October sales last year. Susan Roy has a very good record with her purchases and Waffle could be another string to her bow. Rayvin Mad hails from the formidable yard of Peter Chapple-Hymn and was not disgraced when finishing mid-division in a Newmarket contest. He was noticably weak in the market but the experience should stand him in good sted. Johnmanderville was attracted support on his debut having showed signs of greeness early on. Waffle appears the most likely winner in what should be an informative opener.
