In depth

Verdict

AWESOME SURPRISE is bred in the purple and seems to be heading in the right direction after two starts so we suggest it will be third time lucky for Jeremy Noseda's filly with El Ameen looking the danger; Tiddliwinks is the best of the rest. The pick hung away her chances of winning last time but once righted she stayed on well to claim second place in a Windsor maiden on fast ground. Her mixed top-class pedigree of speed and stamina should be perfect for this trip especially with more improvement likely. El Ameen looks the only real danger after Mark Johnston's runner held his form without really improving on his second start when trying a mile last time. That may have stretched him and his form on quick ground behind Penitent on debut gives his a big chance. Tiddliwinks has a big speed influence on his pedigree but did seem to stay at least this far on his only run to date and place money looks a distinct possibility. The others in this field make only limited appeal so we'll trust the bloodline of Awesome Surprise to get her home.
