LUCKY DAN is put forward ahead of Caranbola and Soul Sista in a race where plenty have claims. They include last time out winners Secret City and Island Legend who both raced prominently when winning but could use up plenty of energy in trying to get a racing position from their high draws. Milton Bradley's charge is unexposed and won easily but a mark of 75 could overface him as the fourth was beaten off 52 next time. Soul Sista has more to prove in terms of recent achievements having shown little in three starts this term but she has come down the weights as a result and is interesting on the pick of last year's efforts. Caranbola is another filly that has come down the weights but she did show signs of returning to form when finishing third in a small field last time. She has won for Alan Munro in the past and may be able to build on that run. The suggestion is Lucky Dan who hasn't been easy to catch right throughout his career but he did run one of his better races when staying on strongly over five at Pontefract suggesting that he was well worth another try at this trip. La Capriosa continues to impress but she's been handed another rise in the weights and could find that at least one of her rivals is better handicapped. Blown It escaped with a 3lb rise for his win at Ayr and could be very interesting but there's a suspicion that he needs things to fall right so we'll take a chance with Lucky Dan.
