Verdict
Soto is looking really well weighted now but there are obvious reasons for his tumbling mark, mainly poor form so instead we like AVEROO who looked back to near his best last time over course and distance while Just Sam looks a little heavy in the weights to complete a hat-trick. Still with just one win in a 19 race career the pick ran well in defeat to narrowly miss out on similar ground last time. He's up three pounds in the weights for that run but that has him five pounds below his last winning mark. Soto is a course and distance winner but his two career successes are becoming distant memories. He ran well on quick ground here two starts ago off six pounds heavier so to rule him out completely could be a mistake. Just Sam is hat-trick hunting here but having only just got home last time he may not repeat that feat under a three pounds heavier burden and Who's Shirl is a consistent type who should run her race but with the assessor yet to cut her a break Averoo is preferred.
