An interesting maiden in which CORSICA looks sure to play a leading role but we'll also be keeping a close eye on Decimus Meridius and Manhattan Fox amongst others. Mark Johnston's colt shaped pleasingly on debut behind the impressive, and long odds-on, High Twelve with Jibrrya further back. He should be all the better for that experience and had a choice of maidens to choose from but also holds an entry in the Racing Post Trophy. Manhattan Fox has an entry in that race as well as just about every other notable juvenile Group race between now and the end of the season. He showed a modicum of ability on debut at Newbury and it wouldn't be any great surprise to see him leave that form behind. He finished just over nine lengths behind Pounced who had the staying on Big Wave Bay around eleven lengths behind when second at Ascot; Alan Jarvis' runner should improve for the run and this longer trip. Decimus Meridius is well related but was in desperate need of the experience at Catterick where he stayed on into third from an impossible position. He doesn't have any big race entries for this season but is still of interest. Music Of The Moor looks vulnerable to that quartet, of whom Corsica is preferred.
