On the face of it this is a race that should not take too much winning with the leading pair being Issabella Gem and NOURIYA, and the latter is given the vote, while Callisto Light is an interesting debutant. There may be improvement to come from the likes of Old Money and, more likely, both Peter Chapple-Hyam's Blast Furnace and John Gosden's Marywell, who both made reasonable debuts over similar trips, though they may have to wait for other days. Callisto Light is out of a French winner over this sort of distance and if the rains come then pedigree suggests that her chance will be enhanced. Issabella Gem won't find this race as tough as the Listed contest she was tried in over course and distance last time and if able to get back to her Sandown form from April then she should go very close. Even so, preference is for Nouriya. Sir Michael Stoute's filly also raced over this track and trip last time when beaten a little over two lengths by Gertrude Bell, who put up a respectable effort to be a seven-length fifth in the Oaks last week, giving that running here a very solid look in context. She should be versatile with regard to conditions and we will take her to get off the mark.
