COMPTON BLUE looks the part on paper and is selected in the hope that he also looks the part on the racecourse. If Tarruji and Wedding Band fail to improve on the modest form that they've shown to date then Club Tahiti and Dunes Queen may emerge as the biggest dangers. Club Tahiti boasts one of the more attractive pedigrees as she is a half-sister to the yard's talented three year old Clowance. The yard's runners often come on for the run though and she may not come into her own until next season. Dunes Queen is the third foal of the top class Queen's Logic, this filly's half-brother made a winning debut at this track in the same month of 2006; she has an entry in the Irish 1,000 Guineas. Tarruji and Winning Band have shown little but represent big yards and so are excused for the time being but Compton Blue may not have to be above average to land this. He's a half-brother to the stable's progressive sprinter Edge Closer who won his sole start at two. A little cut in the ground shouldn't be a problem, the trip looks fine and his stable saddles the odd winner in this division which all adds up to Compton Blue being the answer.
