GEORGE THISBY has been shaping well to date and remains in this sort of company rather than going up to handicaps, and heads our shortlist which is completed by Intolerable and Summers Target. Bred for speed, a son of Royal Applause, he looks progressive and certainly seems to have this sort of race within his scope. Summers Target is well exposed, and has the highest rating of those to have an official mark. He'd been raced mainly at seven furlongs, and hasn't progressed as had been hoped. Intolerable improved a little from debut to be placed last time out, and the step up to six furlongs looks the way forward for Ralph Beckett's gelding. Jim Best has a decent record here and has two runners; Crystal B Good is exposed enough and not come close to landing a blow, but debutant Blue Warrior would be interesting if supported. In the absence of too many clues though, our support goes to George Thisby.
