Mark Johnston saddles no fewer than three runners in the Chesham with May's Newmarket winner Step In Time looking the pick of them over Shakespearean and Bikini Babe but preference is for EMPEROR CLAUDIUS, who gets the vote over Big Audio. Richard Hannon's colt has run well in both starts so far and given every indication that he would be suited by the step up to seven furlongs so he has to be respected. Hannon has his team in good heart at present but the Godolphin stable do not so Yarmouth winner Izaaj looks best watched. Given the success at the meeting already for Wesley Ward, Honor In Peace has to be strongly considered on his British and turf debut and he has to be considered. Beethoven lost no caste in defeat behind No Hubris on his York debut and again ran well at Naas last time so Aidan O'Brien's colt has claims but preference is for stable companion Emperor Claudius. The son of Giant's Causeway stepped up from a promising debut outing at Leopardstown when running out the good winner of a big-field event at Fairyhouse at the beginning of the month and he looks worth backing to follow up that success.
