None of these make much appeal, but there has to be a winner, and tentatively we'll side with FREE TUSSY ahead of Son of My Heart and Play Up Pompey. Gary Moore's gelding won a similar contest here on his penultimate run, but then finished last over course and distance when stepped up a grade. This is very much his level; he's the joint top weight with Son of My Heart, who was placed in a Brighton handicap last time out. There's little consistency at this sort of level though. Like the selection, Play Up Pompey is a course and distance winner, but that was back in December, and there's been little to shout about since. Sponge is an interesting one, making his handicap debut in his first outing since August. Any support in the market should be noted, but in a typically trappy Lingfield handicap, we'll side with Free Tussy.
