DESERT MYTH is a speculative suggestion to come out on top in this tricky little contest; Prompter reverts to a more conventional racecourse and is likely to be a popular choice. He is respected as a major threat, while Emirates Dream takes a significant ease in grade and also has to be considered as a big player at this level. The last named, a lightly raced son of Kingmambo, is the main reason Frankie Dettori stops off at Leicester en route to Doncaster today and is the most likely type to give the Italian his best sight of the winning post on the day. He does need to show more sparkle than he did on his reappearance in a French Group 3 in May, though. Prompter ran no sort of race in the Dee Stakes and is better judged on his previous effort in the Derby Trial at Epsom. Officially rated as the best of these by the BHA, the Michael Bell-trained colt has a solid chance if he can put his Chester run behind him. However, Desert Myth has the most scope for improvement and, as he is representative of the training strengths of the irrepressible Sir Michael Stoute, this son of Smart Strike (the sire of the mighty Curlin) is worth a shot at the likely odds.
