Market support for either Satin Love or Soldiers Point should be noted but at this stage we prefer INTRUSION. Richard Fahey's charge ran on well for a share of third at Catterick, strongly suggesting that either a step up in distance or switch to a stiffer track would see him in a better light. With that in mind conditions at Hamilton should be much more suitable so despite the fact that the form of his latest run hasn't yet been put to the test our feeling is that it was a fair maiden for the track and he's taken to get it right at the third time of asking. Captain Loui didn't appear straightforward despite taking second at Southwell last time and it remains to be seen whether he responds as well to cheek-pieces at the second time of asking, while his two previous efforts on turf suggest that he may simply have improved for switching to Fibresand. Accordingly support for Satin Love or Soldiers Point would be compelling. Mark Johnston has only saddled one juvenile winner this term from 33 runs, but his 32% strike-rate with them at this track over the past five years offers hope for this half-brother to a Kentucky Derby second. He's going to improve for stepping up in trip but has been found a nice opening contest along with Soldiers Point, whose yard operate at a 19% strike-rate with juveniles here and have also saddled six winners from 16 two-year-old runners this term. As with Satin Love though he'll improve for stepping up in trip so without the market to guide us we'll take Intrusion.
