CHARLOTTE GREY is purely a hopeful selection to land this handicap where Monda and Kempsey look the biggest dangers. The slight concern is the fact Peter McBride's filly has never scored over a trip in excess of six furlongs. It is over twenty months since she tackled seven furlongs but it could be that as she gets that bit older she is loosing some of her pace. An easy surface at Haydock last time looked to be Monda's undoing while Kempsey needs to leave behind his most recent form to get involved. Piccolo Diamante is a course winner over six furlongs and the belief is that seven furlongs probably just stretches his stamina. Apres Ski and Zazous are others that merit consideration but in what is once again a wide open heat, Charlotte Grey is given the nod.
