GAZBOOLOU is selected to land it ahead of the likes of Dawson Creek and Speyside while Grey Boy and St Petersburg are other contenders of note. The selection has now dropped to mark 8lb below his last winning mark and recent indications are that a return to winning ways might not be too far away. It is worth bearing in mind that Gazboolou did not have the clearest of passages last time, encountering interference from the eventual second. Dawson Creek has received a 7lb hike having landed a seven furlong handicap at Lingfield. A rating of 66 leaves him on a career high mark while Speyside should appreciate the drop back to ten furlongs. He is rather one paced inside the closing stages of his races and will always be vulnerable to one finishing with a kick from behind. Grey Boy landed a 'touch' for connections when scoring on his penultimate start but found the six furlongs on the sharp side at Newmarket last time. St Petersburg has tumbled down the ratings but is a shadow of his former self while Faithful Ruler has attracted cash on his last number of starts. A wide open affair and Gazboolou is given the vote.
