HABSHAN drops in grade and is the nominal selection ahead of Roman Glory, Amethyst Dawn and Ninth House, all of whom come here in better form. However Chris Wall's gelding is down to a mark of 80 and there was enough promise in his fourth at Ascot on his penultimate start to suggest that he can win off this new mark. He tends to peak at this time of year and with fitness now on his side he is fancied to run well off top-weight. Roman Glory is 4lb higher than his Lingfield win but seeing off as he started life in handicaps off marks in the 90's he is not discarded, along with Stevie Gee who should come on for his Haydock run last month. Truly Asia is back down to a nice mark, just one pound higher than his Bath win last October, Amethyst Dawn was well-backed ahead of her Beverley win last time and is respected off just a 2lb higher mark, whilst Glenmuir is handicapped to strike again. Bold Diktator's second to Miss Kitty Grey is just average form and so a bigger threat should be Ninth House who seems to have clicked with James Sullivan and another decent effort is expected on ground that suits. Not an easy finale for punters but we're happy to take a chance on Habshan.
