Belgian Bill caught the eye on debut however JAAHIZ represents very powerful connections and might be too strong, seeing off My Single Malt in the process. Richard Hannon's Noverre colt was unfancied at 12/1 on debut but ran a cracker behind Major Conquest. Nothing has come out of the race to frank the form yet but it looked a solid race (run in a fair time) and this half-brother to Applaud can go one place better with this trip likely to suit. Cuban Quality is a newcomer to respect although he may need further in time, whilst respect is also afforded to Azrael whose dam was quite prolific at a lowly level. Kalkan Bay is blinkered for his debut, Memorabilia was unfancied on his York debut and ran accordingly although his stable won this last year so he is not discounted, whilst Mubtabi needs a market check as a brother to Dubai's Touch. Of more interest though is My Single Malt who shaped quite well behind Clarke Lane at Haydock. He was very green and should have learnt plenty, so with this extra furlong in his favour he is fancied to run well. As is Belgian Bill who filled second behind the odds-on Excelebration at the track on debut and he looks a horse to follow. Jaahiz gets the vote.
