FLANEUR caught a tartar last time and can get back to winning ways today at the main expense of Kanaf, Drift And Dream and Belinsky in a competitive sprint. Tim Easterby has his horses in great nick and this experienced three-year-old ran well in defeat at Ripon last time out when unfortunate to bump into the rapidly improving sprinter Kellys Eye and a repeat of that effort might be enough to win this on ground that suits. High Spice has a penalty for a Bath win last time and she is respected, although on her first start this year she was nine lengths behind the selection. Kanaf is less exposed and with the ground in his favour he is respected with Jimmy Fortune onboard for the first time, Gertmegalush may be freed by the lack of headgear but needs to be, whilst Drift And Dream's form with Pherousa and Tom Folan was franked by the pair at Warwick on Thursday. Vested Interest drops in grade but he needs to show that his Yarmouth selling romp was no flash in the pan, so a bigger threat could be Belinsky who is better than at Pontefract last time and he might just be better on a flat track like this. Kakapuka has been holding his form well and the booking of Jamie Spencer takes the eye, whilst Dancing Freddy's run behind Vanilla Rum at Windsor last time should stand him in good stead. Flaneur is given the vote.
