Verdict

Sir Michael Stoute should by now be hoping to complete a double with Almuktahem, but we prefer STARLA DANCER, while Cabernet Sauvignon is respected. The Richard Fahey-trained selection acted well here last time out when staying on for second over a furlong shorter. This trip looks ideal, as does fast ground, and we think she can break her maiden tag. Cabernet Sauvignon ran very well in context at Ripon last time out but just could not get past the winner. This stiffer track will probably help and he can go close. Almuktahem will qualify for a handicap mark after this run and that may well be where his future lies. The Green Desert colt has performed with credit on a couple of occasions and should appreciate conditions today, while the extra furlong should also enable him to find a bit more. Burns Night can prove a typical Mark Johnston-trained inmate who improves significantly for his first run, but Starla Dancer gets the nod.
