A tricky race for punters with SNOWED UNDER just given the nod to defy top weight, with Traphalgar and Hippolytus very much respected. The selection loves it here, having won three times over course and distance. He goes on any ground with good in the description, and he has already won three times with Darryll Holland on board so the partnership works well. We will take him to win from this career high mark. Traphalgar represents the in-form Paul Cole yard. The Cape Cross gelding has not enjoyed success since his juvenile days, but 10f and fast ground should suit and from a receding mark he could go well. Hippolytus came good at Haydock last time and looks to have escaped a penalty here, so John Quinn is trying to capitalise on what is clearly a good mark, and there is no reason why he can't put up another bold show. Shady Gloom will find that there is less hustle and bustle in this field than when a beaten favourite at York a week or so ago and with conditions and trip to his optimum he could go close. Riley Boys will be happier now dropped back to this distance and that will help him show his abilities but we prefer the claims of Snowed Under.
