Christine Dunnett's Scruffy Skip is one of three last time out winners in the field for this handicap but he is far from certain to confirm earlier form with BOLDINOR on 2lbs worse terms for a neck and Martin Bosley's gelding is taken to gain a deserved success with the main threat rated as Equinity. Jeff Pearce's filly comes into this on the back of an improved effort at Folkestone last month and she has to be respected but a 4lb rise for that win looks harsh and she may have to settle for minor honours. The other last time out winner, Chantilly Jewel, won his maiden over five furlongs at Lingfield in good fashion but he has yet to prove that he stays six and is probably best watched. The top weight Shakespeare's Son has struggled against the handicapper since last winning over a year ago and looks one to keep an eye on with a bigger threat likely to come from Gay Kelleway's Diane's Choice, who is better than she has shown in her last two starts and has dropped to a fair mark. Preference though is for Martin Bosley's Boldinor, who has been placed in each of his last three starts and he can go one better than at Brighton last time.
