Verdict

A cavalry charge to start proceedings and WALVIS BAY makes a fair degree of appeal with Jeannie Galloway and Antoniola other names that make our short list. The grey shaped with plenty of promise on debut at York and as a half-brother to the very smart Pipalong, if he has any of those levels of ability within the genes, he will prove a tough nut to crack. Jeannie Galloway represents the yard that won this last year. She has the edge of experience and as a daughter of Bahamian Bounty, there is a fair chance that the soft ground will not be of such concern. Tim Easterby's juveniles look to be finally coming to hand and Antoniola makes plenty of interest to us. Easy to back on debut, he is closely related to a number of seven furlong specialists. Tislaam has a first time visor. Rated 79 by the assessor, the ability to produce his best on this surface is open to debate. Angelena Ballerina has one of the highest BHA ratings though she lacks size and will be prey to anything open to progression. Antarctic Desert ran a respectable enough introduction at Thirsk. There appears a potential for improvement. Alan Jarvis has a trio entered. At just 2000 guineas, Show Willing has been able to get in off a light weight and it is of interest that Andrew Elliott is aboard. Chichina is a half-sister to Naomh Geileis. Any market confidence should be noted. Michael Bell does not have too many runners here so Horseradish is noted. A full brother to Mandarinka, there is enough reason to believe that he can be fired up first time out. Walvis Bay is the selection.
