Rakhine may improve for being stepped up to a mile having been well held in a similar contest here over six furlongs last time but he has not looked the easiest of rides and preference is for GLEN LASS, who gets the vote over Lady Lefroy. Richard Fahey's filly has only been placed once from five starts so far so is difficult to back with any confidence but the yard has their runners in good from so she cannot be discounted. Brian Meehan's Mandarin Express looks plenty high enough in the weights judged by his first start in a handicap at Kempton earlier this month. Gay Kelleway's Kate Skate was highly tried in the Albany Stakes two starts ago but was beaten a long way in sellers and claimers either side of that and of more interest may be High Resolution. The Stuart Williams-trained gelding has run better in claimers in his last two starts and he has to be considered in a handicap for the first time off a mark of just 58. Preference though is for Stan Moore's Glen Lass, who ran well in this grade two starts ago, confirmed that form in a non-handicap at Newmarket last month and a reproduction of that form may well suffice.
