Verdict

Rigidity is bound to be popular with backers having run well when chasing home Dashing Doc in a Newmarket maiden last month but that was on good ground and the faster surface today is not likely to suit Henry Cecil's colt so it may be worth taking a chance with BAB AL SHAMS, who gets the vote to make a winning debut with Temple Fair looking the best of the rest. Mark Johnston's colt was well held on his debut in a Wolverhampton maiden but the yard's juveniles normally improve greatly from their first start to their second so he cannot be discounted. Green For Luck has given little sign of encouragement in two starts so far, while Ed Dunlop's Kahfre is probably best watched first time out as the yard's two-year-olds tend to need their first outing. Clive Brittain's Light The City, a son of Fantastic Light, is bred to be useful and represents a yard that has done reasonable well with their youngsters this term so he cannot be discounted but preference is for Bab Al Shams. Saeed Bin Suroor's colt is bred to be useful being a son of Cape Cross out of a Mr Prospector mare and he may be worth chancing first time out.
