Thomas Baines will be a popular choice here after scoring over course and distance last time but with a 6lb penalty for that we'll take him on with KINKY AFRO. The Stan Moore-trained selection begins life in handicaps from a less-than-taxing mark of 67. Kieren Fallon is booked for the job and this drop back in trip to 7f looks ideal after she has twice run with credit over a mile. She has also had some Polytrack experience, admittedly at Lingfield, but she looks worth chancing. Thomas Baines ran on well when taking his race here and although it is far from an impossible task for him he will certainly find out what it is all about tonight. Ever So Bold has gone well in defeat in two handicaps in the past month or so and William Muir introduces him to the Polytrack tonight. This trip should be ideal and from a 1lb lower mark he should be very competitive. Brian Meehan's Public Service remains on the same mark as when runner-up at Lingfield last time and is another who merits serious consideration, while Hamilton 6f claimer winner Sands Of Dee has a bit to prove in terms of trip and also transferring his ability to a handicap and he would be a more surprising winner. Mellifera races off 72 for her handicap introduction and if there is market support for the Swinburn inmate we should take note, but preference is for Kinky Afro.
