There are some interesting newcomers in this maiden including John Dunlop's Green Desert colt Alkhataaf and Andrew Balding's Strictly Dancer but KALYPSO KING sets a fair standard and looks the one to be on with Locksley Hall rated the main danger. The selection made an encouraging debut for Richard Hannon when finishing a close third behind Sunraider at Windsor last month. Not given a hard time once unable to win that race, the son of Giant's Causeway should benefit for the run and gets the vote to open his account. Jeremy Noseda's Darshonin, a son of Pivotal, is another interesting newcomer that could be of interest. Henry Candy's Imperial Delight did little wrong first time out when a fair fourth behind Avongate over course and distance and is another to consider but a bigger threat is likely to come from Locksley Hall. Ed Vaughan's colt found just San Cassiano too good on his debut in an auction maiden at Kempton earlier this month and he has to be considered but a better bet looks to be Kalypso King.
