Verdict

A number in with chances in this handicap include Bermondsey Girl, Peper Harow and First Blade, but we prefer the claims of BLUE NOODLES. David Evans has been firing in the winners of late and he can enjoy further success with this son of Reset, who has been in good form in both sellers and handicaps this summer. The fact that he has not yet won a handicap is of slight concern, but he does very much have a solid profile and a decent draw to boot here so we will go with him. First Blade steps up to this trip from a 5f win here last time, for which he has gone up 6lbs. He will need a career best effort to follow up over a trip at which he is unproven. Chris Wall's Bermondsey Girl is 5lbs higher than when scoring over this trip at Lingfield and there is no reason why she cannot be competitive if her draw does not have too adverse an effect. Nottingham scorer Peper Harow looked in the grip of the handicapper at Newmarket last time, but Jonnie Skull looks capable of being bang there off the same mark as when going close over this trip last time. Chief Red Cloud acted well here last time and Dance Club is another likely to make his presence felt under Kieren Fallon, but a chance is taken on Blue Noodles.
