This isn't a strong race for the money and perhaps LADY JANE DIGBY can go a couple of places better than last year, in the process reversing form with the winner Cassique Lady; Saphira's Fire and Danehill's Pearl rate best of the rest. Mark Johnston's mare was extremely unfortunate in this contest last year, in the process showing she acts well on ground with cut, and our belief is she'd have won had the cards dropped right. The now five-year-old went on to romp home in a Listed race at Newcastle before winning a Group Three, for which she's unpenalised, and a fair run over an inadequate 1m2f at Sandown should have put her spot on for this. Cassique Lady was the one to benefit from Lady Jane Digby's misfortune last year but in fairness she went on to acquit herself well in a Group Three thereafter. She's not without claims of landing the follow-up but her sole run this year was too bad to forgive in this contest and she'll need to leave it well behind. Saphira's Fire deserves to pick up another prize having not tasted success since winning in this grade back in 2008. She was asked some stiff questions last term and this is easier, so if she's ready to roll then it'd be no surprise were she home in front; a debut maiden success suggests that she should be fit enough to do herself justice too. Honimiere looks to have rock-solid claims on the figures but we're inclined to suggest she's probably rated 10lbs higher than she should be following a flattered second to Strawberrydaiquiri on her return so a bigger threat may be Danehill's Pearl, with Tom Dascombe's filly having shown a liking for cut in the past. She ran reasonably on her return in a better race at the Curragh and this step up in distance should see her in a better light. Uvinza needs to improve but the visor may enable her to do so whilst Paquerettza has earned this step up in class following a ready success last time, but Lady Jane Digby has the form in the book and should take some beating.
