In depth

Verdict

Vito Volterra has had three wins on the flat and he makes his debut over hurdles here, with Anchorage Boy featuring who finished third last time out behind our selection for this contest, LUCKY QUAY. The pick won at Hexham earlier in the month beating some of those who are in the field today. It was a great win on his hurdle debut and can double up in this contest for David Pipe. It was a demolition job last time out winning by twenty-two lengths and although this could be a closer race with some of the horses coming on for their previous runs, we cannot overlook the dominance with which he won his last race and the vote goes to Lucky Quay. Vito Volterra has a reasonable flat record and makes a first jumps appearance. The trip may be a problem as we have not seen him over a trip further than ten furlongs before. Anchorage Boy was a long way behind the selection last time at Hexham but should improve for that effort and a better go at the trip can be expected. Both Petrocelli and Meetings Man have had sole wins on the flat and have a first go over the hurdles. Whilst there are some unexposed types in this sphere, we side with Lucky Quay to continue winning ways.
