Verdict

The ground may play its part in this contest and while likely market protagonists Mr Mahdlo and The Eens would prefer there to be more juice in the ground and we shall stick with the former. An enthusiastic jumper of fences, Mr Mahdlo routed the opposition on his previous racecourse start and provided that the going isn't too fast, we will hope that the element to his racing will hold him in good stead. The Eens was something of a Haydock Park specialist in his younger days. He isn't particularly quick but he stays on dourly. Game Gunner has few problems with regard to trip or going. He may well need this race after a long absence but as always, the market is observed. Hold up performer Monty's Tag, departed when making progress behind Sikander A Azam at Fakenham on his most recent start. Young Tomo had some decent form for Howard Johnson although even these memories are becoming increasingly distant. The remainder are here following modest runs between the flags. Mr Mahdlo looks just about the safest conveyance in spite of potential ground worries.
