OFF CHANCE is taken to gain a deserved success at the main expense of Miss Mittagong and Path Of Peace. Tim Easterby's filly hasn't enjoyed a lot of luck this season as she ran two fine races on her first two starts before appearing to have an ideal opportunity at Ripon only for the ground to turn against her. She still ran a fine race to go down by a head to Charlie Cool who franked the form with a good run from a 5lb higher mark next time and, as long as conditions remain on top, she can go one better. She does face two unexposed performers in Miss Mittagong and Path Of Peace with the former sporting a visor for the first time having just missed out in a finish of heads at Newcastle; that form looks fairly solid with the second running respectably in a valuable race at the weekend. James Bethell's filly could emerge as the chief threat following an impressive start to her handicap career from an exposed performer but she does have to cope with an 8lb rise in a better race and the percentage call is to side with the proven claims of Off Chance with a caveat about underfoot conditions in place.
