SCENE TWO is preferred to Frosted Grape, Crimson Canyon and Coeur De Lionne. The selection won two races on the level for Luca Cumani, including a handicap from a mark of 71 at Goodwood, so clearly has a fair level of ability. He did enough on his debut over obstacles at Towcester to believe that he should be up to winning races in this sphere and it would be no great surprise were he to be seen to better effect around this less demanding circuit. Coeur De Lionne has joined a top yard and was smart enough to win a handicap from a mark of 92 in his prime but that was back in 2007 and he was also more effective on the all-weather. It will be interesting to see what level of market support, if any, he attracts. Frosted Grape was rated quite highly on her Irish form but tailed off last time and stronger claims are held by Crimson Canyon who made a pleasing debut at Fontwell and may benefit from dropping back to a slightly shorter trip but preference is for Scene Two.
