HAMALAC may be able to make a winning start to his career in a bumper that doesn't appear to have too much strength in depth; Maggie Aron and Grandads Horse are two of the more obvious alternatives. Maggie Aron rates the one to beat following an impressive success at Ffos Las and she may well be able to get away with a penalty in this company but she's likely to be short enough. Grandads Horse has shown a glimmer of ability whilst Stitchnick and Oscar Charlie are interesting recruits from the point-to-point field but a chance is taken with the unraced Hamalac. Martin Keighley doesn't send out a huge number of winners in these contests but this one appeals as more of a likely candidate than many of those that he would usually run. The selection is a half-brother to Flat winner and smart performer My Petra as well as bumper winner Lake Legend and the booking of Robert Thornton bodes well for his chances of following suit.
