      Verdict

      Mondain appreciated the step up in trip when scoring over 2m at Thirsk but carries 6lb extra today. However, Wannie Mae won over 1m4f at Goodwood on her handicap debut and should stay the extra distance raised 4lb. BUCKMAN TAVERN was beaten less than a length by Just Hubert in a higher grade contest over track and trip last week and can race off the same mark with Sir Mark Prescott’s yard in flying form so gets the nod. Young Merlin is weighted to reverse earlier running with Mondain on much better terms while Htilominlo is upped in trip and Fantastic Ms Fox would prefer some cut in the ground.
