Verdict

Royal Storm, Mister Fips and Our Blessing make the shortlist in this trappy claimer and Royal Storm can score. Mister Fips won his maiden at Pontefract last August but has been winless since. That success came over the minimum trip and he has shaped promising ly when dropped to this class for the first time. Beaten seven lengths that day he will be thereabouts. Our Blessing is dropped to this grade for the first time but connections are taking no chances by alloting him top weight. His run in a very good York handicap last time was very respectable in the context of this race, though he may prefer an easier surface and a shorter trip than he encounters here. Royal Storm won a Folkestone handicap three outings ago and has been placed on fast ground recently. This is his first attempt in this grade and Royal Storm can prove good enough.
