Jack O' Lantern and Rasselas set the standard but FLORENTINE RULER can improve past the pair and break his maiden tag. Henry Cecil doesn't send too many to the track and this fellow ran well here last time out without getting the run of the race or the best of rides. The slightly longer trip today will suit and with experience of the track in his armour he is bound to run well. Affordable needs to step up on his first start at Goodwood, Jack O' Lantern is bred to be special but his efforts thus far have been average and he needs to improve for this longer trip, whilst One More Tico looks like one of the worst horses in the Mark Johnston yard at this stage of his career. Rasselas is rated 79 and is therefore afforded respect; he takes a drop in class here and his trainer has a good record with his runners he sends to the track. Ticket To Paradise is the other to mention as David Lanigan is unbeaten in Yorkshire raids this season and this Singspiel colt has the potential to improve greatly this year being out of a dam who won at three and is from the family of the great Nashwan. An interesting maiden then but preference is for Florentine Ruler. [Nic Doggett]
