A tricky maiden can go the way of MOHTASHEM, who edges the nomination ahead of Sovereign Remedy and Ithinkbest. The last named is a stablemate of the Mohtashem and has shown promise in two starts to date. Sir Michael Stoute is sure to place this fellow to good effect and, irrespective of what happens today; he is very much a long term prospect. Sovereign Remedy finished just ahead of the selection when they met at Kempton 15 days ago. The Godolphin-owned colt enjoyed a much smoother passage on that occasion but still caught the eye as a colt of huge potential. He is out of the top-class Lailani and can be expected to start paying his way before long. However, Mohtashem showed a good attitude at Kempton and, as he had to scrap his way into contention on the all-weather, he may just have the cutting edge on this more appropriate surface. Mohtashem is therefore forwarded as the best option in a tight one to call.
