Verdict

Godolphin's IZAAJ should improve nicely for his debut run and in time will probably prove to be classier than his rivals here so he has the vote in this maiden ahead of Rock Of Love and Clan Piper. The pick holds a Derby entry so will benefit from this slight step up in trip from his Newmarket debut where he stayed on late after get outpaced early. His breeding is top class though he may prefer slighted softer conditions. Rock Of Love is bred to go well as a juvenile but didn¿t really step up on his debut effort when fourth of seven at Hamilton last time. He found little for pressure during that race but if anyone can get improvement out of a horse it's trainer Mark Johnston so this one remains high on the list. Clan Piper hails from the in form John Gosden yard but was a disappointing well beaten favourite on debut. He holds Group One entries so is obviously rated by connections and based on that and his pedigree he needs to be respected. Little else in the field makes any appeal and the market will guide us further to the chances of the leading trio but Izaaj looks to have good claims.
