Verdict
MILITARY CALL gets the nod for this maiden, with Final Ovation and Maison Brillet offered up as the alternatives. The selection has been running with credit in his two starts to date. He was a respectable fourth on debut at Nottingham last month and followed up with a second place finish last time out. The two-year-old colt looks capable of progressing further and taking victory here today. Final Ovation came in for good support on debut last time and was far from disgraced. The colt finished fourth and shaped as if the initial experience was needed. He will have come on for that run and should be thereabouts at the post. Howard Johnson's Maison Brillet makes his debut today and looks best of the five debutants running here. The gelding comes from a yard in a good run of form recently and a finish in the minors looks possible. The market should prove to be a good guide, as is the norm with this type of race but for us Military Call looks the likely winner.
