CHEDDAR GEORGE caught the eye on debut and is fancied feature in the finish along with Mushreq, Uphold and Tattler. Brian Meehan's son of Pivotal shaped with promise behind Breakheart, making late headway having been held up for most of the way. He looks sure to be wiser this afternoon and there are several hints in the pedigree of this very well-related colt that he will relish the ground conditions today. The obvious contender is Mushreq who contested some top maidens last year. He makes his seasonal reappearance today and this $850,000 purchase is likely to step up this season being out of the Oaks winner Casual Look. Tattler reads well in terms of pedigree and this half-brother to Bagber is not ignored on debut, Uphold shaped with promise behind Quick Wit in October and is out of a half-sister to Distant Music, whilst Miss Chaumiere will be handicapped after this run and that may be where her future lies after two runs at big prices. Mont Ras started at 100/30 on debut at Yarmouth but was almost last and he needs to prove that he is better than that abject beginning. Jubail is not ignored after a good first run behind Dromore, however in the better of the two divisions we will take a chance on Cheddar George each way.
