In depth

Verdict

Ghost Dancer and Castano have to figure prominently on any short-list but we'll take a chance with ANOTHER TRY. Ghost Dancer is in the form of his life at present and lost little in defeat at Warwick with the front two finishing clear of the field; his rider is good value for his claim which puts him on a competitive mark. Castano finally took advantage of his declining mark at Wolverhampton and remains well enough treated if that has restored his confidence and he meets the fifth home, The History Man, on the same terms prior to claims. Simple Rhythm has won her last two starts on grass so merits respect whilst any confidence behind Alan Devonshire would be worth noting as his mark has dropped from a high of 102 to his current perch of 69 but he's offered little in the way of encouragement. Another Try has won two of his three starts over this drip with the sole defeat on his latest run at Thirsk where the ground was softer than ideal. He has gone well for this pilot in the past and is just 2lbs higher than when scoring in June so Another Try is put forwards with conditions to suit.
