Quite an interesting bunch with OSTENTATION's experience gaining him the nomination ahead of Merchant Of Medici, Midwestern and some interesting newcomers. Midwestern shaped quite well in a maiden won by the potentially smart Pastoral Player so it will be interesting to see if he can give that form a boost whilst Merchant Of Medici wasn't too far behind Vintage Stakes winner Xtension on debut. The Leicester form is harder to assess with the winner well held in the Redcar Two Year-Old Trophy next time; the third and fourth were due to run at Warwick on Monday and may give the run some substance. High Comedy attracted little interest at the sales but represents a yard with a strong team of juveniles and a good track record whilst Picnic Party and Frequency make a good bit of appeal on paper. Skyrider and Deacon Blues need a second look but may need more time before coming into their own. The selection made his debut behind a stablemate of High Comedy; he ran very green and was beaten 11 lengths but did show signs of ability. He's a half-brother to the smart Hatta Fort so there's hope for him on paper and Ostentation may be able to show us what he's made of at the second time of asking.
