The runners in division two of this maiden have plenty to live up to given the previous winners and they could struggle on the available evidence. PERSIAN POET is the tentative suggestion with Liberty Square and Comradeship amongst the likely dangers. There wasn't that much promise to be gleaned from the debut of Mark Johnston's colt but the success that his trainer enjoyed last year means that a chance is taken with him in the hope that he'll leave the form of his debut behind. Comradeship sets a fair standard at best but his latest effort was disappointing and he has to prove that he can bounce back from that run at Ffos Las. Liberty Square was well held on debut at Yarmouth in a maiden that was won by a nice prospect; he was fairly short in the market that day and may be worth another chance. Ceilidh House looks the part on paper whilst Retrato is related to a juvenile winner so both are worth a market check whilst Life And Soul, Cordiality and Round Won are potential improvers in a race that lacks obvious strength in depth. It's that apparent lack of depth which leads us to give the vote to Persian Poet.
